Causes of intimate partner homicide: Gender differences in empathy, psychopathy, and perceived social support

Objective: Intimate partner homicide (IPH) and attempted murder behaviors have increased in recent years. In addition, the causes of are affected by gender dynamics. This study aims to determine whether individuals who committed toward their partners differ terms empathy, psychopathy, perceived social support predictive variables IPH partners. Method: was carried out with a total 123 participants (73 women 50 men) from 10 different prisons. Demographic Information Form, Empathic Tendency Scale, Levenson Self-Report Psychopathy Multidimensional Scale Perceived Social Support were used. Results: A value 82.19% 60.97% men charged killing Of these, 24% 7% killed planning. The psychopathy scores (56.92±8.45) found be higher than (52.73±8.98). results logistic regression analysis indicate that kill attempt best predicted physical violence partner, feelings jealousy weak significant other family.
